Strike Witches: Red Witches ch01

Rated: Nudity

The year is 1944, around when Miyafuji Yoshika joined the 501st JFW to protect Gallia.

The South European nation Romagna is launching a Neuroi counteroffensive with its 504th JFW, nicknamed The Ardor Witches. Its core is made up by the Duchy of Romagna’s elite, the Red Pants Unit, but, what is soon becoming evident as the detachment is coming together, is that the members all seem to a bit peculiar, not the least of which the commander.

Amazon, it’s licensed with the first volume out already. Zero proved to be too difficult and boring to justify the work.

    Some minor suggestions:

On page 14, in the second panel, Luciana says that Federica is “recuperating from battle injuries in Malta,” which might be more appropriately phrased as “…battle injuries from Malta” given the point in the timeline this takes place. Besides, this line comes off as awkward when the scene transitions to a “South Romagnan spa”.

Jane addresses Gentile as “Admiral” in the third panel of page 29, which I presume is the translation for “Taishou”. Given that the author has acknowledged it to mean “Boss,” perhaps you may wish to consider a revision, or use “Don” (which the SW wiki uses) as an equivalent, as she is based on Don Gentile.

Furthermore, as the historical Gentile’s first name was Dominic, “Dominica” makes more sense than “Dominika”.

@passerby: Translator here. Thanks for your suggestions, I wasn’t aware of those things (I’m not too interested in the lore). All three sound good and would be fine as a rerelease.

“Don” sounds a bit odd in Jane’s text bubbles, but I guess “Boss” will do.
